UL Sport Adventure Centre is one of Munster’s leading Adventure Sports operators. We provide a range of Adventure Sport packages for schools, sports teams, corporate days out, summer camps and family groups. We pride ourselves on our tried and tested year-round excellent services. Our purpose-built facility makes it possible for all our clients to enjoy the great outdoors from both land and water once you arrive.
Ideally situated between the shores of Lough Derg and Ballycuggaran Forest Park, we are only two miles from the famous heritage town of Killaloe and a 20-minute drive from Limerick City.

ULAC offers the perfect location for all your outdoor needs. All our activities are nearby so there are no long bus journeys from the centre to the activities. You can get straight from the water into a hot shower. Each year we invest in state-of-the-art equipment. We employ highly experienced and qualified staff who are experts in their fields and use safe, fresh and exciting teaching and instructing methods. We offer our services at very competitive rates, but to truly understand our dedication to excellence you will have to visit us!
Facilities
The centre’s lakeside location provides us with easy access to the water. Our purpose-built piers and slipways provide a modern and safe environment for all our water-based activities. The centre has heated changing facilities and hot showers for ladies and gents. We have a barbeque and picnic area, which includes a large marquee and gazebo in case of rain showers. Our conference room is complete with up-to-date audiovisual lecturing capabilities. All of our facilities and many of our activities are also wheelchair-friendly.

Hurling, Team Building & Painting
Marty has over ten years of experience working in the adventure sports industry. He is a graduate of Colaiste Dhulaigh’s Shackleton Course and GMIT Castlebar. He holds a diploma in Outdoor Adventure Management and a higher degree in Outdoor Education
Marty holds instructor qualifications, in Rock climbing, Mountaineering, Kayaking, Sailing, and more. Before starting his career with UL Sport, Marty worked for a wide range of both commercial and public operators, gaining experience in coaching, youth development, and event management. For the 7 years, Marty has managed the operations of the UL Sport Adventure Centre, managing a team of up to 25 instructors. He now also manages the brand new state-of-the-art UL Sport Climbing Wall.
During his spare time, he is an amateur wannabee professional beekeeper!

Bryanna is a graduate of UL where she completed a MA in Creative Writing. Forever an outdoors enthusiast, she took to the rocks after a visit to Yosemite and is unable to escape since. Recently qualifying as a Personal Trainer, she joined the team at the UL Sport as an instructor where she coaches new climbers & outdoor enthusiasts.
She is also a qualified Rescue SCUBA Diver ** with the Lough Derg Sub Aqua Club. When she’s not hanging from a tree branch or door frame, you can find her rolling on the mats.
Gearoid is a senior instructor at the UL Sport Climbing Wall, he also works as a multi-adventure sports instructor for the UL Sport Adventure Centre. It all began at his first Scouts camp where he learned the art of bushcraft. As a graduate of GMIT in Outdoor Education, he loves the outdoors, expeditions, and anything to do with hillwalking, kayaking, and rock climbing.
