UL Sport adventure centre is a recognised Irish Sailing training centre, with over 30 years of training experience. Our sailing courses follow a well-established syllabus. Our experienced Instructors will guide you through the course at your own level, ensuring A safe, fun, leaning environment.

Lough Derg Sailing Tour

Take to the water with the wind in your sails and enjoy the clear blue water of Lough Derg. An experienced instructor will ensure you are safe and dry and allow you to sit back and enjoy the feeling of being swept along by the breeze or if you are up for a splash you can go for a refreshing dip.

Trip stake 2 1/2 hours and are fully guided, all equipment is provided.

Taste of Sailing

A short introduction to the thrills & spills of sailing, this sailing courses will provide a complete beginner with a flavour of the sport in a controlled, safe environment. The aim of this brief introductory course is to give you a positive introduction to the thrill of sailing.

A Taste of Sailing €100 per person per course (One Day Course)

Start Sailing

The aim of the Start sailing course is to provide the novice sailor with a brief introduction to sailing. By the end of the course, the sailor will have covered basic boat handling techniques and essential background knowledge. It is recommended that sailors go on to consolidate this short introduction with the Basic Skills Course (Level 2).

Start Sailing €180 per person per course

Basic Skills

By the end of this course the successful sailor will be safety conscious, have a basic knowledge of sailing and be capable of sailing without an instructor in light winds.

Basic Skills €180pp

Improving Skills

Speed And Spinnaker, hiking with your harness, passage planning and using all types of dinghies. This course will enable the candidate to make seamanship decisions and rig and sail any type of dinghy.

Improving Skills €400pp

What to Bring

If you are booked onto our Sailing Courses here is what you need to bring:

1. Swimming Togs, Towel, and Shower Gear.
2. Old Shoes or footwear to wear into the water.
3. Pencil and paper to take notes.
4. Wet Suit, Buoyancy aid and all equipment will be provided.

Please note: For all weekend courses participants will have 1hour for lunch, all are welcome to bring packed lunches and use the indoor facilities, tea/coffee will be provided.
